Whether you are an experienced orchardist or a beginner gardener, this live, bare-root starter plant is ready to establish strong roots and bring years of fresh, juicy harvests to your home.
🌱 WHY CHOOSE BARE ROOT?
Bare root plants establish faster, experience less transplant shock when handled correctly, and are far more environmentally friendly to ship.
☀️ GROWING CONDITIONS:
• USDA Hardiness Zones: 8-11 (Outdoors).
• Cold Climates (Zones 4-7): Can be easily grown in a container and brought indoors by a sunny window during freezing winter months!
• Sunlight: Full Sun (6-8 hours of direct sunlight daily).
• Soil: Well-draining citrus or cactus soil mix.
👩🌾 PLANTING & CARE INSTRUCTIONS (Crucial for Bare Root!):
Hydrate (The "Wake Up" Soak): Upon arrival, unpack immediately and soak the roots in room-temperature water for 2 to 4 hours. Do not submerge the trunk.
Prepare the Soil: Choose a spot with well-draining soil or a large pot with drainage holes.
Planting: Dig a hole twice as wide as the root system, but no deeper than the roots. Spread the roots gently. Important: Make sure the graft union (the swollen bump near the base of the trunk) remains 2-3 inches ABOVE the soil line. Do not bury it!
Watering: Water deeply immediately after planting to settle the soil and remove air pockets. Afterwards, water only when the top 2 inches of soil feel dry. Citrus trees hate "wet feet."
Fertilizing: Wait about 4-6 weeks after planting before applying a citrus-specific fertilizer.
